The pilot's watch - an introduction

Pilot's watches were first manufactured at the beginning of the 20th century for the needs of the pilots of the time. The pilot's watch quickly evolved from a simple wristwatch worn only by pilots to a watch industry that reflected the rapid progress of aviation in the 20th century.

In today's modern aviation world, there is no real need for a timepiece other than a wristwatch. The pilot's watch became much more an expression of a zeitgeist of technically oriented people interested in flying.

You can recognize a pilot's watch pretty quickly. It is technical, stylish and often has multiple displays. Special editions usually present either an aircraft or an aviation group.

The biggest flaw that bothered me about “conventional” pilot watches is the price.

The price often starts at 500 euros and rises to several thousand euros for an automatic drive.
